Power On

Last week, Britishvolt was proud to exhibit at CENEX LCV, which this year celebrated its 15th anniversary at UTAC Millbrook, a renowned UK test track venue. The event drew together a record number of government officials, industry experts, academics, OEMs, supply chain representatives, and more, presenting an opportunity for the sector to reflect on what has been a monumental year of progress in the low carbon vehicle space. The stunning results of the collective brain power within the UK’s automotive sector were proudly displayed: exclusive ehicles were showcased, superlative technologies were demonstrated, and the latest manufacturing innovations were revealed across the two-day event.

In the seminar track, a stellar line-up of executive speakers took to the stage to discuss issues as broad ranging as the digital infrastructure needed to underpin national charging networks to the latest advancements in solid state battery technology development. The agenda included Britishvolt’s Acting CEO Dr Graham Hoare OBE, who spoke on the leadership challenges as we navigate a route to net zero and the need for businesses to move quickly to meet the coming industrial revolution, and Dr Karin Eurenius, our Chief of Staff for Research & Development, who shone a light on how to make the most of cross-industry collaboration to create the step-change technology advancements needed to reach our decarbonisation goals.

It was observed several times during the conference that the rate of evolution in recent years has outpaced even the most optimistic of previous forecasts; this should give us all encouragement when considering the quantum leaps still required if we are to reach our long-term national and global decarbonisation targets, let alone meet the exponential growth in consumer demand.

It’s hard to conceive of the as-yet undiscovered technologies and innovations CENEX will be presenting in another 15 years’ time, but given the intellect, drive, and purpose on show in 2022, they’re sure to be a sight to behold.

We’re delighted to be on this journey with our industry partners and peers, and will keep pushing on the door of the impossible to deliver the future our planet deserves.
