We are Britishvolt. Our mission is to accelerate the electrification of society. We will deliver sustainable, low-carbon batteries on the roadmap to decarbonisation. Proudly British, passionately global.
The race to zero is an imperative for society, and batteries are core to a successful energy transition. The Britishvolt ambition is to create some of the planet’s most responsibly manufactured battery cells, primarily to power electric vehicles.
The United Kingdom has been at the forefront of global investment in technology development and innovation since the industrial revolution.
The UK Government has identified the development of current and future generations of battery technology of strategic importance to the country’s manufacturing sector and key to sustaining its valuable domestic automotive industry.
We do indeed have global ambitions, but the UK will always be where it all started.
Our HQ is based in the heartland of the UK automotive industry, the Midlands. Allowing for easy access to vehicle manufacturers as well as our research partners at Warwick Manufacturing Group. Our first Gigaplant is based in Northumberland, situated close to an abundance of renewable energy.
Diversity is at the very core of what we do. We are inclusive, thoughtful and equal. Business-wide.
We are a family of likeminded individuals, all driven by one common goal; to deliver a sustainable future.
American politician Kamala Harris once said “Our unity is our strength, and our diversity is our power. We reject the myth of ‘us’ vs. ‘them’. We are in this together”.
We think the same.
Britishvolt is a proactive neighbour in the North East of England, as it will be wherever expansion plans take the business.
We offer local communities thoughtfully designed education hubs, created to power the employment of the future. Everyone is equal, all deserve a chance for a better life. Low carbon batteries, designed to store and capture renewable energy, will be at the very heart of these communities. Britishvolt will be at the very heart of these communities.
